Medically Assisted Weight Loss Therapy

Balanced BHRT can also assist you with your weight loss struggles. Our providers are trained in dealing with the intricacies of the human endocrine system and are acutely aware of the impact excess adipose tissue has on virtually every system in our body. Excessive adipose tissue inhibits the body’s ability to self-regulate our blood sugar, sex hormones, blood pressure, immune function, and sleep which leads to chronic vascular inflammation, fatigue, poor joint health, increased risk of certain cancers, fatty liver disease, kidney disease, depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline.
If everything else that you have tried has failed, GLP-1/Semaglutide therapy may be the next logical step. Our goal with this therapy is to use these powerful peptides as a bridge for you to get the positive momentum needed to adopt lifestyle and diet changes so your utilization of them is as short as possible. Our providers write every prescription with our patient’s individual needs in mind, working with a compounded GLP-1/semaglutide allows the customization of your dose to ease you into this therapy and hopefully minimize the side effects these powerful peptides can cause. This flexibility is also key when your goals are met and it is time to start weening off the therapy. We meet with you prior to every prescription refill to check your progress, discuss any side effects or complications you may be experiencing, adjust your dosing as warranted, and to keep you focused on the long-term goal of adopting positive healthy habits.
Due to the shortage countrywide of FDA approved, patented GLP-1/semaglutide medications, patients are able to access this powerful peptide through local compounding pharmacies. This compounded version is not the patented FDA approved version of GLP-1/semaglutide (Wegovy). They are compounded locally and custom dosed for you individually. Unfortunately, they are typically not covered by health insurance or Medicare. However, most of our patients have found the costs associated with our services and their GLP-1/semaglutide prescription is often more affordable than the patented versions that their insurance may cover. Bottom line, for most patients, their out-of-pocket costs are typically less. This service is limited to patients that live close enough to a compounded pharmacy that they are able to pick up their prescription due to the refrigeration needs of GLP-1/semaglutides which make them difficult to ship.
Initial Clinical Consultation
Our Initial Consultation for Medically Assisted Weight Loss will include a review of your current and past medical history, any recent bloodwork, your personal goals, and an evaluation of your suitability for starting this program. It is comprehensive in nature, typically will last between 45 minutes to an hour with the intention of full disclosure of the risks, benefits, and our philosophy toward this powerful therapy while you are in our care. The initial consultation is $250 and can be scheduled virtually or in person.
Follow Up Consultation
Follow Up Consultations will be scheduled to coincide with each needed refill of your prescription. We take this medication’s risks very seriously and will not continue to prescribe it unless we are able to meet with you virtually and review your progress, make appropriate adjustments, and evaluate any adverse side effects you may be experiencing. These follow up visits include the updating of your progress, review of any health changes, review of any recent lab, and your updated symptom questionnaire review. They take around 25 minutes, are typically able to be done virtually in our telemedicine platform, and are priced at $100.
